Hand plus foot equals episode 2. (Hidan no Aria)

Hand and foot go hand in hand.

Which is a particularly weird thing to say, but with this screen cap I am assured of relevancy. Or just getting your attention for being weird. And as much as I detest episodic posting, I actually might end up doing it for this show instead of Astalotte’s Toy. I can’t ignore it anymore — Aria looks like a pink version of Hatsune Miku. Seriously. Just go use Adobe Aftereffects or something to color her hair Miku’s turquoise or whatever color it is for every frame.

I doubled the amount of pictures this time to better portray the contents of the episode. But it sure is fun trying to find scenes irrelevant to anything, and taken out of context just look like it’s a regular animu picture. But enough of the meta stuff. We end up learning what about the kind of character the requisite blonde haired one is. In addition, we also learn another side of Hiroyuki, which I’m finding incredibly awesome because it’s a couple of things combined I wish were done more often: Childhood-yandere-miko-friend. At least I think she’s a childhood friend; I’m too lazy to go back and find out. To continue the theme of expanding, Aria — as expected — is embarrassed about anything concerning love and has the usual violent “perverted things are bad” behavior. Usually I’d be rather pissed at this typical trait. Perhaps it’s simply because hearing Rie Kugimiya primes me for anything standard of her roles.  This episode is rather dull for action, but has all the pants exploding potential for those who know exactly why they’re watching the show. It barely does any setup for the next episode that will provide the conflict that’s currently lacking.

Instead of throwing in a character we never saw, they just expand on two revealed characters and showing a bit more of a side-character. I consider this an OK balance, since we’re most likely going to see next episode introduce another two or so. Just a guess. There’s also a small thing I just noticed. At this point, I just have to wonder when the tomboy girl with a short hair cut will show up. For this kind of a show, there just has to be one, even if it isn’t a harem show.

I’m in love with all three girls. Guy is cool dudebro. This is unprecedented, since there’s never been an anime where I like every single character. Looking forward to new characters.
